COVID-19: Private schools defile FG order, says they would participate in WASSCE

Private schools across the country have said they are prepared to take the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) being led by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) regardless of the government request that no Nigerian school would take part in the Examination.

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) said that the government should rethink its situation on WASSCE.

NAPPS president, Yomi Otubela, said the relationship on Tuesday, July 14, would make a proper intrigue to the administration to change its position on the issue. He said non-public schools have clung to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) rules and guidelines by setting up COVID-19 security measures to ensure students that are to seat for the exams are safe.
